These eight chapters contain much more valuable advice than I have noted above. Stuart is not through yet! There is a rampant buzz about lowering our cholesterol because it is considered a "silent killer" causing much concern in our society. This book will certainly give you information of why this buzz is rampant and why there are concerns.
Although it seems like Stuart Brown isn't in the medical field he does have good information for the average person interested in obtaining optimum health. As well, to substantiate his writing and direction Brown includes qualified research. He does not preach but gives facts.
I was specifically interested in two areas in the book. One was the checklist of what to ask the doctor, and the other were the myths. The myths reminded me that just because the label says "light" it doesn't mean that it's not high in trans and saturated fats, or sometimes contain more fats than the "regular" foods.
There isn't anything new or anything that hasn't been said before in this book, however, I do recommend it for those that don't want to do a whole lot of research to get to what they need to know. The concise manner in which Brown presents the information is palatable and gives us an opportunity to learn the basics.
Once the basics are understood more research would certainly be in order if desired. One person found this helpful.
